| Mistakes |
| |
| Avid
fans of LOST have located many, many mistakes on LOST regarding
props, dates, discrepancies in the hatch, changes that occur
in the hatch mural, jewelry that appears and disappears or
moves from one part of the body to the another, flipped shots
that result in mirror images, sudden changes in clothing,
etc.
My
goal is to try to list all the 'mistakes' in one place. To
date, these are the most comprehensive lists of the LOST 'mistakes'
available anywhere.
What
you will not find in this list are lots of the instances where
a piece of production equipment is inadvertently seen, or
a shot that has obviously been flipped such as those described
by Richard Sickler on the S2 DVD. An example of one of these,
is when the shots are flipped to give the impression of a
car with a right-sided steering wheel vs. a left-sided steering
wheel. These types of images are only included here if one
or more item changes and everything else in the shot stays
the same (i.e.: Eko's earring changes ears while everything
else in the scene stays the same S2E10).
The
other type of 'mistake' that I have not included in the list
is those specific instances where a scene used in the opening
"previously on LOST" segment shows us a slightly
different view of what was said, or how it was said, than
what was actually shown in the previous episodes. These so
called 'mistakes' occur in many, many instances where we are
supposed to be seeing a repeated scene. I just think that
fans need to be aware that these 'mistakes' are numerous and
occur regularly on this show. Do they mean something specific?
Maybe, or maybe it may be an indication that the video game
doesn't always reproduce the scene in exactly the same way
when it is shown again.
TPTB have stated that many of these 'mistakes' are simply
errors that occurred in editing and that LOST fans shouldn't
pay much attention to them. According to JAVI over on The
Fuselage, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
However,
TPTB have also stated that some of the so-called mistakes
are actually intentional and that they are important to LOST.
That
leaves the viewer wondering which of the 'mistakes' are important
and which of the 'mistakes' probably do not mean anything.
There are many threads on a variety of boards that discuss
these mistakes and their possible importance.
I
have also assembled a list of Mistakes
That Are Important. This list includes items that are
just too important to the story to be as carelessly handled
as they would appear to be. |

Mistakes
That Are Important
While
it is understandable that many of the 'mistakes' on LOST can
be catalogued as minor. There are several 'mistakes' that
jump out as being way too important to have just slipped by
in editing.
I
am referring to the 'mistakes' that occur with the single
most important prop that each of the LOSTies is associated
with. I simply can not believe that the most important props
on the show would be dealt with so carelessly and I do not
believe that there is a snowball's chance in hell that the
Props Department is solely responsible for these. The person
responsible for these types of errors would, at best, be damn
sure they didn't happen again. And, at worst, they would be
fired.
I
believe these are not casual 'mistakes', but 'mistakes' that
the audience is meant to find and that they mean something.
Perhaps the prop changes depending on the role that the character
is in at that particular moment.
Ben's
Picture
The picture
of Ben's mother has changed from a younger woman with
hair down over her left shoulder, to the version of the picture
seen in S4E7 where she is an older woman with no hair over
her left shoulder. The older
version of the picture is also seen in S4E9.
Charlie
After watching Charlie's guitar for three seasons, I have
still been unable to find any differences with either it,
or the guitar case. However, in S3E21 there were many differences
seen with the props associated with Charlie.
The
most notable of these can be found in Charlie's list of his
"Greatest Hits". We see Charlie's list on five different
occasions as he starts with #5
and then adds #4,
#3, #2
and finally #1
to the list. But if you compare
the list as it is seen each time he adds something to
it, there are big differences in the list. Look at the list
when he is adding #4, the words "First Time" are
separated, they were connected in #5. When he adds #3 to the
list, the position of the word "Butlin's" has changed
position in relation to the word "radio"; and the
words "First Time" are now connected again. There
are also big differences in the presence of absence of the
periods after each entry on his list. And there are distinct
differences between when he adds #2 and #1. The placement
of the words "Hero" and "Covent" are different
in relation to each other.
In
S3E21, Charlie is seen placing the Drive Shaft ring on his
middle finger when Liam gives it to him and Charlie announces
"It fits". Yet, when Charlie is seen wearing
the ring on the street corner near Covent Garden he is
wearing the ring on his fore finger.
The
length of Charlie's necklace also changes constantly throughout
S3E21. It some scenes it hangs down over the neckline of his
t-shirt and in other scenes, it is much shorter.
Claire
& Her Diary
In S1E2, the diary that Claire is shown writing in
appears to be a very dark blue, even
black in color with a stiff cover.
In S1E14, the diary that Sawyer gives to Charlie is a brighter
blue and has a soft cover. Also, see the screen cap from
the scene where Charlie tries to avoid reading the diary,
it is soft covered and the brighter
blue color
There
are also some curious differences in the handwriting
shown in Claire's diary in S1E14. Look carefully at the a's.
It appears as if two different people have written in her
diary. It's also interesting to note that the top two screen
caps from the diary seem to be typical of the dialogue we
expect from Claire, all sweetness and 'light' and that the
bottom screen cap contains words like HATE and suck. It could
be an indication of Claire being in a 'good' role when she
writes the top parts and a 'bad' role when she writes the
part in the bottom screen cap.
Daniel's
Map Back to the Boat
In S4E5, two
different versions are shown of the map that Daniel drew
for Frank to get back to the boat. The boat is drawn differently,
the writing is different and they are positioned differently
on the instrument panel.
The
inscription in Daniel's diary that was written by Eloise Hawking
is
different in S5E14 and S5E15.
Desmond's
Picture of Penny & Her Letter
There are two different versions of Penny's Letter, Letter
1 and Letter
2 and
there are also two versions of the picture of Desmond &
Penny. Penny is wearing a black
shirt the first time we see her picture in S2E3. In S2E24,
there is a different Penny and she is wearing a white
shirt. Different actress, yes, but why change what she
is wearing? And why go to so much trouble to have her clothes
completely reversed from a black blouse with a white t-shirt
underneath to a white blouse with a black t-shirt underneath?
Eko
& the Drug Plane
Eko is responsible for bringing the Beechcraft with
the heroin to the island. When the plane is on the tarmac
in Nigeria it had large
numbers on it's side S2E10, but when Eko makes Charlie
take him to the plane in S1E10, the numbers are different
and smaller.
Hurley
& The Lottery Ticket
In S1E18, the numbers are seen near the top
of the lottery ticket.
In S2E4, the numbers are shown near the top of the lottery
ticket at the beginning of the episode and then every other
time it is shown in this episode the numbers are closer to
the bottom
of the ticket.
Jack
& His Father's Body/Coffin
In S1E4, when Jack sees the empty coffin, the things lying
on it change between shots, and the lining changes from one
shot to the next. The amount of destruction Jack has done
to the coffin also changes between shots.
The only other item that Jack has with him after the crash
is a Russian
vodka bottle.
Jin
& Mr. Paik's Watch
The most interesting mistakes about Jin, Michael and Mr. Paik's
watch occur during the fight scene in S1E6 where the watch
appears and disappears from Michael's wrist. But the watch
that Jin is wearing in these scenes appears and disappears
as well.
Kate
& The Toy Plane
In S2E9, there are no
numbers on the wing of the plane
In S1E12, the numbers 5025 are on the top
of the right wing of the plane, also seen here when Kate
holds up the plane
Kate's
Trial
Most of Kate's crimes are state crimes and she’d
be tried in the state of her crimes. The charge of assault
on a Federal officer would probably be a federal crime and
be tried in a different court. But none took place in LA and
there’s no reason she’d be tried there.
Locke
& His Compass
In S1E13 and in all other episodes, Locke's compass is silver.
In S1E13, the compass is gold
when he hands it to Sayid.
Locke's Date of Birth
Locke's license and the firearms permit show two
different birth dates. Also, in California, driver’s
licenses use your birth date as an expiration date. In addition,
the zip codes do not match. The zip code on the Firearms permit
is 94099 (which is South San Francisco, not a San Francisco
Zip Code (it is another city), and on his license is 94131
(which is San Francisco). In addition. Emily
Locke's driver's license said her date of birth was 1940.
So was Emily Locke 6 years old when she gave birth to Locke?
And why does her driver's license say that the license expires
on 3-20-94 when it also says that the driver's license "expires
on birthday". In S3E13, we were given an entirely different
date of birth for Locke on the paperwork that Tamara the Social
Worker is filling out. These papers appear to say that his
Date of
Birth is 5/20/56.
Michael
& His Letters to Walt
Look at the two
pictures, one is of Michael when he is sketching the card,
the second is the finished card. Note the differences in the
window on the equipment, the size and location of the cake,
the position of the feet and bandages and lots more.
Rose
& Bernard's Wedding Ring
In S1E1, Bernard’s wedding ring is not
on the chain around Rose’s neck when she is speaking
to Jack as he gets up from his seat just before the plane
crash.
In S1E1, the ring
is on her neck when she is seen on the beach immediately
after the crash.
Sawyer
& His Letter to the Real Sawyer
In S1E16, Sawyer is seen reading the letter
he wrote to the Real Sawyer.
In S3E19 Sawyer gives Anthony Cooper the letter
to read
The letter shown in S1E16 is much
shorter than the letter that Anthony Cooper reads
Sayid
& His Pictures of Nadia
There are differences in what is written on the back of Nadia's
picture from one scene in S1E9 to another, the writing
is actually reversed. The wording on the back of the picture
has also been deliberately changed from the common Arabic
phrase which means that they would meet in heaven vs. the
wording which now says that they will meet in "another
life"
The
Plane
In S1E1 the wings of the plane are still attached
to the fuselage
In S3E1, the wings of the plane break
off while the plane is still in the air
Walt
& Vincent
I'll be going back to get screen shots of Vincent
and his leash, it has been blue in some episodes and red
in other episodes. In S3E21 Hurley is seen with Vincent
on a leash that is made from what appears to be chain.

Dating
& Timing
Dating & timing have been a issue on LOST since the very
first episode. Beginning with the many pieces of information
that have caused the crash date to be debated (the 2004 vs.
2009 controversy).
Some
dating mistakes have been explained by TPTB.
TPTB
have stated that the date on Jin's resume was a production
error. That the postmarks on Michael's letters to Walt that
were featured on the Oceanic-Air.com website do not match
the timing when Susan and Walt were living in specific countries
and were an error. And that the date from Jack's luggage tag
was just wrong.
I
firmly believe that the writers are deliberately including
conflicting dates and timelines in numerous episodes. TPTB
stated in the May
26, 2006 podcast that the date of the crash was September
22, 2004, I remain convinced that the date of the crash and
the timing conflicts
are key to LOST.
During
Comic Con in July 2006, TPTB stated that "the survivors
may not actually be on the island as long as they think they
have been." So, it looks like we will be getting more
dating and timing conflicts in Season 3. I still find it curious
that only two years were ever indicated for the date of crash.
Either 2004 or 2009. If these are truly random errors then
why do they always only point to one of these two years?
There are some other dating issues have not been explained,
including:
•
In Season 1 Boone dies on day 36. Yet, Bernard speaks to him
on the radio on Day 41 in S2E7.
•
In S2E7 Cindy says that the plane was flying for 6 hours before
the pilot turned around and flew for 2 hours in the wrong
direction. This equals a total of 8 hours of flight time.
Yet, Ana Lucia says that they were flying for 2 hours and
she didn't see Nathan on the flight.
•
In S2E11, the x-ray is dated 11/16/2005
•
In S3E1 Christian Shephard is shown driving a 2007
Mercedes up to the hotel (confirmed by Mercedes-Benz of
San Diego)
•
Locke's license and the firearms permit show two
different birth dates. Also, in California, driver’s
licenses use your birth date as an expiration date. In addition,
the zip codes do not match. The zip code on the Firearms permit
is 94099 (which is South San Francisco, not a San Francisco
Zip Code (it is another city), and on his license is 94131
(which is San Francisco). In addition. Emily
Locke's driver's license said her date of birth was 1940.
So was Emily Locke 6 years old when she gave birth to Locke?

on 3-20-94 when it also says that the driver's license "expires
on birthday". In S3E13, we were given an entirely different
date of birth for Locke on the paperwork that Tamara the Social
Worker is filling out. These papers appear to say that his
Date of
Birth is 5/20/56.
•
In S3E14 Locke is watching the episode of Expose that Nikki
finished just before leaving Australia in 2004. However, Locke
is not paralyzed and we were told that he spent four years
in the wheelchair before he went to Australia.
• In
S3E17, in Desmond's last flashback, he was in the monastery
in 1995 before he met Penny; yet, in S3E8 it was 1996 and
he'd been with her for two years.
•
In S3E18 Juliet says that it is Saturday when she leaves the
message for Ben, yet early in the episode she referred to
the LOSTies having been there for 90 days. Day 90 would actually
be a Monday. Day 88 would have been a Saturday.
•
In S3E20, the books
on the classroom shelf include "The Coalwood Way"
by Homer Hickam. It was published in 2000. This scene is supposed
to take place some time in the 1970's
•
S4E5, the Black Rock leaves England in 1845, but dynamite,
which was invented in1866, was found on the Black Rock
• S4E6
Juliet says it's been three weeks since they lost Ethan, but
in fact, Ethan did not die until day 29
• S4E7,
in Jin's flashback, he pulls South
Korean won bills that recently came into circulation out
of his wallet. The 10,000 won bills he pulls out were released
on January 22, 2007
• S4E7,
the first scene of Jin in the toy store shows items on the
back shelf from the shows Ben 10 and Power Rangers: Operation
Overdrive. These shows did not begin airing until 2007. Another
shelf carries Nintendo DS and PSP consoles, which were not
available until late 2004 |

'Mistakes'
|

|
|
|
| |
S1E1
• After the plane crashes, the same
people keep running in and out of the background behind the
main characters
•
When Kate finds the pilot's wings (pin) in the mud, the pilot's
reflection is seen in the water as he lies on the branches.
Later when Jack looks up, the pilot's position has changed
and he is lying on different branches
•
Watch Jack's t-shirt when he drops to his knees and takes
it off. The positions of his shirt and t-shirt change
•
When
Charlie leaves his seat on the airplane, as he is followed
by the stewards, he walks through economy (blue stripe seats),
then walks through business class. But, in Charlie's next
close-up, when the plane shakes, he leans on the blue seat
in front of him, which he already passed and is farther back
in the plane's cabin
• When
Charlie, Kate and Jack are in the nose wreckage, to find the
transceiver, there is a shot in first class, facing the cockpit,
showing the glass wall with the decorative circular design.
When Charlie is aboard the flight, running from the stewards,
he stands beside that glass wall, and the circular pattern
is reversed. Neither shot is flipped
•
Jack, Hurley and Claire are running from the wing that is
falling down, as Jack says "stay with her", Hurley
has a big piece of his hair across his forehead that appears
and disappears between shots
•
When Kate, Jack and Charlie are talking to the pilot, the
blood on the pilot's face changes position
• The
ring is on Rose's chain in S1S1 when she is seen kissing the
ring (DVD 13 minutes). Rose does
not have Bernard's ring on the chain around her neck during
her conversation with Jack
just prior to the crash S1E1 (DVD 22 minutes). This scene
is immediately prior to the crash and Bernard is already in
the bathroom. Rose should have had his ring on the chain by
then |
| |
|
| |
S1E2
• When Jin offers Claire some of the
sea urchin, the position of the book changes in her hands
•
Watch as Sawyer and Sayid are fighting and Jack tries to pull
Sawyer away. Sayid is first holding onto Sawyer's shirt, next
he is holding onto his pants
•
There is also a repeated shot during the fight scene when
Jack is shown grabbing Sawyer's left arm twice
•
When Sayid is taking the transceiver apart, the part in his
hand seems to move back and forth from his right to his left
hand, to the table
•
As Jack, Charlie and Kate are walking through the woods, Jack
is holding the transceiver and Charlie asks if he hears anything.
Jack answers "You keep asking if there's anything",
while holding the transceiver with his right hand and his
left hand is down. When it cuts he holds on to the transceiver
with both hands
•
On the airplane, Kate lifts the glass of juice with her handcuffed
hands, in this close-up the cuff round her right wrist has
the single bar facing out. However, when the turbulence hits,
in another close-up of her hands, the same cuff is on the
opposite way, it now has the double bar facing out
•During
the flashback, Charlie goes to the bathroom at the front of
the plane. Once the plane hits turbulence, Charlie gets out
of the bathroom and is able to make it back about 10 rows
before strapping himself into a grey seat, not the blue seats
found in coach class. Boone and Shannon were seated in Business
Class in grey seats, so Charlie is probably seated somewhere
near them when the plane goes down. Sawyer says that Sayid
was seated in business class near him in S1E2. Sawyer is seen
sitting on a grey seat on the beach in S1E8. When Kate, Charlie
and Jack visit the front section of the plane, this section
contains at least 10 windows which would imply that the first
10 rows of seats are there. So how could Sayid, Sawyer, Charlie,
Boone and Shannon wind up on the beach and not wind up with
the front part of the plane? |

S1E3
• The endless line of telephone poles
seen as Kate & Farmer Ray and the Marshall drive along
the road repeatedly switch sides
•
The tailgate on the pickup truck is present, then it disappears,
then it is back again. Also watch the cab window behind Kate
and Farmer Ray, it switches from being closed to being open.
When
Kate grabs for the steering wheel in the side exterior shot,
the stunt driver is visible and he is holding the steering
wheel with his right hand. Farmer Ray has a prosthetic right
hand and is previously seen holding onto the steering wheel
with his left hand
•
Watch Farmer Ray's bruises, his suspenders and his wedding
ring as Kate drags him away from the burning pickup, his bruises
switch position, his suspenders are not clasped & then
they are, and his wedding ring changes from his left hand
to his right hand. Kate's bracelet also switches wrists. And
Farmer Ray's hat moves from being dropped beside the door
to being about eight feet away
•
Sun's face changes from being only slightly dirty to completely
dirty as she is bringing the luggage to Jin and he tells her
to "Go wash up"
•
While Michael searches for Vincent and meets up with Sun,
his shirt changes back and forth from being wet from the rain
to, dry
•
The position of the firewood changes when Kate is building
the fire, to it's configuration when Sawyer joins her
•
When they make camp for the night, on their way back from
hearing the French woman's transmission, they sit around the
fire talking. Sawyer has a cut over his right eye, but in
every other close-up of Sawyer the cut is over his left eye
•
As Kate leans over the marshal, he wakes up and chokes her
and as Jack subdues him the marshal's large head bandage falls
off. When Jack squeezes water into the marshal's mouth, the
bandages are wrapped perfectly round his head, yet when Kate
stands up the bandages are off again
•
When Jack removes the paper with Kate's mug shot from the
marshal's jacket pocket, in the close-up of the paper there
is no writing at the top center of the paper, only at the
sides. However, in the previous shot the center writing is
visible from behind, and is also perfectly seen when Hurley
finds the paper
•
Watch Walt's sleeping position as Locke tells Michael "I
thought you should be the one to bring his dog back to him".
Walt is facing away from Michael, then faces towards Michael
and then faces back away again
•
Kate eats bacon when Farmer Ray feeds her, but in S1E4 she
tells Jack she is a vegetarian |
| |
|
| |
S1E4
• While hunting for boar, Locke pulls
Kate out of the way and winds up on his back. Look at Locke's
hands as Kate gets up. The knife suddenly becomes visible
in Locke's hand over his stomach,
then it is gone
•
The blanket around Rose's shoulders switches positions frequently
as she speaks with Jack
•
As Charlie and Hurley are fishing, the size of the wet area
on Hurley's t-shirt changes
•
Kate's backpack switches position on her shoulders as she
speaks with Jack. Watch the amount of orange fabric between
her arm and the strap
•
Kate says "I'm a vegetarian", but she was seen eating
bacon in S1E3
•
Boone's legs switch positions as he is talking with Sawyer |
| |
|
| |
S1E5
• There is a safety wire visibly attached
to Jack's waist as he is hanging off the cliff and the number
of leaves on the vine changes from its appearance in wide-shots
to its appearance in close-up shots
•
When Charlie and Hurley are questioning Jack in the tent,
a man and a woman walk behind Jack in the same direction twice
•
Watch the suitcase filled with water bottles, the number of
bottles appears to keep changing
•
Boone's sitting position changes during the conversation when
Sawyer asks him "So how does it feel?"
•
When Jack sees the coffin, the things lying on it change between
shots and the lining changes from one shot to the next. The
amount of destruction Jack has done to the coffin also changes
between shots
•
In S1E1, Kate sews up the deep cut on Jack's back. When he
dives into the water (twice) to attempt to rescue Joanna,
it is only 6 days later and the cut is gone. How
could Jack have healed so quickly? |
| |
|
| |
S1E6
• When Sawyer removes the handcuffs
from his pocket, the chain is shorter than it is when we see
Jin chained to the wreckage
•
As Jack and Kate head back to the beach, the bag on Kate's
shoulder keeps switching positions
•
Kate takes her shirt off in the cave when she is fighting
off the bees, but when Charlie walks in, he says she left
it outside the cave
•
There is a large blood stain on Jin's right elbow when he
is washing his hands. In the next shot the stain has disappeared
•
When Jin attacks Michael, the wreckage on the beach beside
the wheels is seen behind Sun as she shouts at Jin. When Jin
is handcuffed, the wreckage on the beach differs, there is
noticeably much more in that area
•
Sun's left earlobe has a cleft, but while Jin is still cuffed
to the wreckage, Sun watches Michael head off through the
trees (to cut firewood) and in this close-up it is Sun's right
earlobe with the cleft
•
The way Sun is holding the puppy switches between shots
•
At the party when Jin and Sun are standing together, Sun place
her arms on Jin's shoulders. Her arm's position on the shoulders
differ between the shots
•
At the end of the episode, while Jack is filling his water
bottle, his tattoo is on his right arm, not on his left
•
The tattoo also switches arms when Jack is in the second fight
with Ethan
•
As Michael is surprised to learn that Sun can speak English,
the arm he has extended changes
•
In S1E1, Kate sews up the deep cut on Jack's back. When he
dives into the water (twice) to attempt to rescue Joanna,
it is only 6 days later and the cut is gone. The cut is also
gone in S1E6 when he takes off his shirt in the cave during
the bee attack. How could Jack have healed so quickly?
•
The gold watch disappears from Michael's wrist when Jin is
fighting with him in the water. Also, in the first six episodes,
Michael is usually shown wearing a watch. In S1E1, S1E2, S1E3
and S1E4, Michael is wearing a watch on his left wrist that
has a brown leather strap. In S1E5 Michael doesn't wear either
watch. In S1E6, Michael wears the gold watch on his right
wrist. Also, keep an eye on Jin's wrist. his watch appears
and disappears as well |

|
| |
S1E7
• When Charlie and Liam are speaking
outside the church, Charlie's scarf changes position
•
When Charlie visits Liam, the items on the table near the
lemonade pitcher switch positions
•
We see the suitcase fall from the net when they are trapping
the boar, a few scenes later, the suitcase is still falling
•
Watch Charlie's guitar case, we see it on the ground behind
Charlie when he is playing and Hurley then brings the case
to him
• There
is a brief shot of the tape on Charlie's fingers being on
his right hand instead of his left hand as he is looking through
Jack's drugs |

S1E8
• After Sawyer admits to Kate that
he doesn't have the inhalers, Sayid and he get into a fight.
In the first shot, the back of Sayid's white shirt is fairly
clean as he is standing, but in the next wider shot the back
is completely filthy, before he and Sawyer ever even hit the
ground
•
After Sayid stabs Sawyer, the blood stains on Sayid's shirt
change frequently
•
The amount and pattern of the water spots on Sawyer's shirt
change frequently
•
The position of Claire's bookmark changes
•
Sawyer claims to have $140,000 in the briefcase, but Hilo
says that Sawyer left $160,000 of his money with Jessica |
| |
|
| |
S1E9
• The foot that Sayid gets caught
in the trap changes from left to right, and the branch that
he is stabbed with changes
•
After they discuss Nadia, the position that Danielle is holding
the gun in that she is pointing at Sayid changes
•
When Sayid holds the music box open for Danielle to see, in
the shots facing Sayid he holds it facing out towards Danielle,
but in the shots facing Danielle, the box faces to the side
• The
cable Sayid finds in S1E9 is grey, the cable Hurley finds
in S1E18 is black. They are obviously different cables
•
Emily Locke clearly has blue
eyes, but her driver's
license says that they are brown
|

are many problems with the different versions of the photo
of Desmond and Penny that we saw at the beginning of the season
when he takes it with him as he runs away from the hatch,
to the photo shown when he leaves prison, to the photo on
Penny's nightstand. They differ in the color of her shirt
(black vs. white) to the direction she is looking in, to their
relative positions to each other in the photo.
Even if this is due to a change in actresses who play Penny,
why wouldn't the prop people be more careful with matching
the photos more carefully? Are these differences actually
intentional?
• There are two
different versions of Penny's
letter shown |

down by her right eye. After Jack says "They", the
hair is hanging down by her right eye again. And it keeps
switching back and forth

jungle to when he is on the beach
• As
Desmond carries Claire from the water, the red strap is off
her shoulder, in the next shot is is back on her
shoulder
•
This is supposed to be taking place in London, but as Desmond
walks down the street toward the recruiting office, he passes
American parking
meters
•
During
the February
20, 2007 podcast, Carlton Cuse says that the fact that
the military poster had the American spelling of "Honor"
vs. the British "Honour" was a production error,
"that was a mistake, our bad"
• The
position of Desmond hair differs when the photo is taken to
what is actually shown in the photo
• Only
one photo is taken and Desmond
has it on the island. Yet, the same photo was also shown
on Penny's
night stand in S2E24
• The
signs on the news stand change from reading News
Agent to News.
The fonts also change
• The
man with the red
sneakers is also wearing a hat
with a red feather in it. A man wearing the same
hat is also seen walking past the delivery man in the
lobby of Widmore Industries. Watch the timing for when he
walks past Desmond and then past the delivery man, the timing
is way off |

• Jack's
shorts are wet
when he begins to assemble the kite, in the very next shot,
his shorts are dry
•
Watch the right side of the scene carefully as Jack wakes
up to find that he is being watched by Cindy and the Others.
The man in the yellow shirt on the right approaches twice.
And the positions of several of the Others changes
as well
• Strands
of Sawyer's hair are hanging over his left eye when he starts
to talk to Karl, in the next shot of him, it has moved and
a few seconds later it's back again, then gone again
•
Alex's hair changes when she is speaking with Jack at the
cage. Her hair is hanging down by both sides of her face,
and then suddenly it is tucked behind her left ear. And then
it is back down beside her face again

to his house, there is a boom
box on the steps, moments later his father comes down
the steps and the boom box is missing, even though it can
still be heard
• The same man is seen passing behind
young Hurley at two different times and even though the shot
is from two different angles, the timing is off
• Just after Charlie has shaved, his
beard growth is back when Kate and Sawyer return
• Sawyer's hair
changes from being down on both sides of his face, to being
tucked behind his left ear. to being down again when Kate
takes removes the dart. The same thing happens in this
scene with Kate's hair being tucked/un-tucked behind her right
ear

the scene where Hurley is sitting at the table with his parents,
his father is holding his glass, in the next shot he has a
piece of the burger in his hand and in the next, the glass
is back in his hand
• The
skeleton's
arm in Vincent's mouth constantly changes position as
Hurley is chasing Vincent. And it also changes position from
when Vincent finally drops it, to when Hurley takes the key
and rabbit's foot. Also
watch the position of the key in relation to the rabbit's
foot. This is discussed by Jorge Garcia (Hurley) in the March
5, 2007 podcast
• Carmen
Reyes puts her thumb
and index finger over the ears of the gold Jesus statue,
in the next shot, the position of her hand
over the ears has changed

back and forth from being in front of her ear, to being
pulled back when she is speaking to Sayid on the couch
• The
compass shows North as being the direction
that they just came from
• The
position of the ping pong paddles laying on the table changes
as the net is being attached
•
The horse switches positions from its original location near
the farmhouse when it is facing in the direction that Sayid
comes from, to standing facing toward the window and door,
to standing over near the field
• RobN,
an ex-Marine, pointed out that there were at least three bricks
of C4 shown and at least four
separate fuses. The amount of C4 shown would have resulted
in a much larger explosion. And further, that the four fuses
most likely indicates that there may have been additional
triggers beside the computer in the Flame Hatch, that could
have been located at other locations.
• The
amount of blood on Sayid's bandage is significantly greater
before he and Kate go down into the Flame
Hatch.
When he is down there, the bandages have much less blood.
Then, when the come upstairs again, the large amount of blood
is back on the bandages. The same thing happens with the amount
of blood seen on his face in various scenes
•
Locke moves his rook to the back row. His next move is the
other rook to the back row. The computer's knights are in
completely
different places between the moves and Locke's other rook
has disappeared.
• When

Shannon's hair is longer before
she gets on the plane than it is after
the crash
•
Arzt tells Nikki "Oh, uh...well, since I've been here
I've discovered 20 new species. I'm gonna be the next Charles
Darwin" and
"Uh...ah...ah...um...that is uh..Latrodectus regina.
Very dangerous. They call her the Medusa Spider." There
is no such species as Latrodectus regina. If it supposed to
be a new species that he has discovered, then he shouldn't
refer to what "they" call it, unless of course he
is referring to what the Others call it as another form of
the monster
• In
S1E22 Sawyer
says to Arzt "You're a damn high school science teacher"
and Arzt does not correct him, yet in S3E14 Paolo asks Nikki
"Are you sure we should be listening to a high school
science teacher?" Nikki replies "Junior high, and
yes". So which is it? High School or Junior High School?
•
Locke is watching the episode of Expose that Nikki finished
just before leaving Australia in 2004. However, Locke is not
paralyzed and we were told that he spent four years in the
wheelchair before he went to Australia.
•The
date on the newspaper
that Nikki and Paolo are reading in the airport is dated Thursday
September 24, 2004. This was confirmed as a mistake by Lindelof

leave
•There
is a difference in the amount of mud that gets on Kate and Juliet
when they first fall into the pit and when they are seen getting
up from the pit |

• The charts that Ben/Fake Henry
shows to Juliet and claims are Rachel's, say that they are
from a Male
who weighs 187 lbs
• Charlie
leaves his fingerprints
in blood on Claire's face, they disappear and then re-appear
during the scene
• As
Jack and Kate approach the beach, Sayid's legs can be seen
behind Kate. You can see Sayid deliberately stop walking and
stall so that Kate can make her entrance onto the beach. You
can see his
legs in these photos, but the stall must be watched on
video to see it properly
• Juliet
is seen climbing out of the bunk with bare feet, she
is never seen putting her shoes on, but has them on when
she climbs out of the submarine
•
The time on Ben/Fake Henry's clock changes from 7:40 to 9:30
when Juliet is speaking to him
•

There is no guard visible on the dock behind Juliet, seconds
later there is a guard there
• The
same LOSTie (a woman) is seen walking behind Sawyer twice
as he greets Kate on the beach |

S3E17
• The
dates
on the wine do not match. The label says 1995, but the
date on the crates is 1989
•
When Desmond knocks on the door, it is white and when we see
Desmond from a view behind Derek, the door
is brown.
•
The cable looks as if it is different colors in the different
views of it. It is black
in the flashback but when we see Hurley lift it, it is grey.
This was also evident in S1E9 and S1E18, see above
•
The number of marshmallows on Hurley's stick changes from
3 to 2 and then back to 3
•
Desmond has blood on his nose and cheek, in the next shot
it is just on his nose
•
The location of the net and the water bottle change as Desmond
is seen fishing
•
Jin's
proximity to the fire changes when he first stands up to when
he is seen in the next shot
•
Just as Hurley says to Desmond "In case you haven't noticed
I'm not exactly The Flash" there is a strange camera
flash that appears briefly. According to the April
30, 2007 Official Podcast, the strange flash was only
a camera flash and nothing more
•
When Jack, Hurley and Desmond are talking (after Desmond had
been handed the first
aid kit) Desmond has the first aid kit strap slung over
his shoulder. When the conversation is over Desmond has yet
to shoulder the first aid kit.
• Desmond's
last flashback, he was in the monastery in 1995 before he
met Penny; yet in S3E8 it was 1996 and he'd been with her
for two years |

S3E18
• Jin
does not have a backpack
on him, seconds later he is shown wearing one
• As
Jin is chasing Patchy, Patchy's hand is on his side as if
he has a cramp, then it is not, then it is back on his side
again. Also, if you watch Patchy's
hairline, you can see that Patchy has a stunt double
doing some of the running. The stunt man has more
hair than Patchy does.
• The
lampshades in Sun and Jin's apartment that are on the bedroom
lamp by the bed and on the table
with Sun's purse change places during the scene when Jin
finds the money
• The
same extras can be seen passing repeatedly behind Sun while
she is sitting on the bench
• The
red and
blue floats in Jin's father's boat change position as
Sun approaches

father's boat is on the left
side of the dock as Sun walks toward the end of the dock.
She is then seen standing near it and the boat is now on the
right side of the dock
•
Juliet's position
in the hallway of the Medical Station changes as the scene
moves back and forth between views of Sun and then Juliet

• The
positions of the leaves
under Locke's head change as Sawyer is questioning him
• In
S1E16 it seemed as if Mr. Ford is calling Mrs. Ford by the
name of "Brooke" when he is breaking down the door.
Yet, in S3E19, Sawyer tells Anthony Cooper that his mother's
name was Mary
• In
S3E19 Sawyer gives Anthony Cooper the letter
to read, the letter shown in S1E16 is much
shorter than the letter that Anthony Cooper reads

•
In the April
30, 2007 Official Podcast,
TPTB said that the flash seen across
Hurley's face in S3E17 was only a camera flash and nothing
more, but in S3E20 there were some white
flashes seen across young Ben's face and some curious
red
flashes seen in the lower right hand corner of the screen
•
When the attack begins, Annie closes
her notebook, seconds later as she is seen from behind,
the notebook is still open on her desk. And the notebook that
is on the desk that is located behind Annie has changed from
a notebook into a hard cover book
•
When young Ben places his present on the coffee table, there
is no
glass dish near it. Seconds later a glass dish is located
beside it
•
The lantern that Ben took into Jacob's
house fell off of the table, the glass was heard breaking
and it started a fire. But, when Ben leaves the house he is
carrying the lantern and puts it back where he took it from.
The
glass is not broken. See my comments on the What's
New page under the 5/12/07 update for my thoughts on why
this might not be a mistake
•
The books
on the classroom shelf include "The Coalwood Way"
by Homer Hickam. It was published in 2000. This scene is supposed
to take place some time in the 1970's

S3E21
•
After watching Charlie's guitar for three seasons, I have
still been unable to find any differences with either it,
or the guitar case. However, in S3E21 there were many differences
seen with the props associated with Charlie. The most notable
of these can be found in Charlie's list of his "Greatest
Hits". We see Charlie's list on five different occasions
as he starts with #5
and then adds #4,
#3, #2
and finally #1
to the list.
The placement
of the words "Hero" and "Covent" are different
in relation to each other
• Charlie
is seen placing the Drive Shaft ring on his middle finger
when Liam gives it to him and Charlie announces "It fits".
Yet, when Charlie is seen wearing
the ring on the street corner near Covent Garden he is
wearing the ring on his fore finger
• The
length of Charlie's necklace also changes constantly throughout
S3E21. It some scenes it hangs down over the neckline of his
t-shirt and in other scenes, it is much shorter
• A
member of Drive Shaft who is sitting in the van is wearing
sunglasses and they suddenly disappear in the next shot
• The
time is seen on Charlie's watch as he hugs Hurley and it is
then shown later on in the boat, the time is the same
• In
S1E5 Charlie begs Jack to go get Joanna when he says "Jack!
Jack! Jack! Hey Jack! Someone's out there. You've gotta...
the currents.. there's someone out there, look. I woke up
and she's... I don't swim. I don't swim" , but in S3E21
Charlie says "I was junior swim champion in Northern
England" and then swims down to the Looking Glass
•
Vincent appears to have a new leash, it
has been blue in some episodes and red
in other episodes. In S3E21 Hurley is seen with Vincent
on a leash that is made from what appears to be chain
•
The position of Charlie's
hand across the girl's arm changes |

S3E22
• When the LOSTies first leave
the beach, the water is on their right hand side. Later
on, they are seen walking with the water
to their left. This is not possible unless they completely
turned around and began walking in the opposite direction
•
We are repeatedly shown that Jack's beard stubble on the
island is quite
grey, yet when we see Jack on the plane in the Flash
Forward, his beard
is much darker than it should be
•
The bandage
on Jack's head changes while he is speaking to Sarah
•
There is a piece of white fuzz that appears and disappears
in Kate's
hair as she and Sawyer fill their water bottles
•
Jack's shirt collar is inside of his jacket as he gets out
of the car and enters the funeral home, when he gets inside
it the shirt
collar is outside of his jacket collar
•The
number of rows of chairs in the funeral parlor changes from
three to four during the scene
• The first view of the room in the
Hoffs/Drawlar
Funeral Parlor shows that the table
with the book on it is much closer to the coffin than it
is when the Funeral Director places the flowers on it
• When
Locke is lying
in the ditch, the same scene of him moving his left
leg is shown twice. And his legs also change positions between
shots.
• Ben/Fake Henry is seen in his tent,
reading a diary. The doll that Annie gave him is first seen
immediately to
his left and then it is on
top of the books on the shelves behind Ben
•
As the LOSTies leave the beach, there is blonde woman carrying
a yellow
water bottle and it is bouncing around. It is obviously
empty, although they had just been filled. The same thing
is seen happening later on when a male
LOSTie is seen carrying a water jug that is also obviously
empty
•
Mikhail Bakunin/Patchy is seen sighting
the gun with the eye that has the patch on it. This
same mistake was seen in S3E11
• Charlie has no blood on his face
just after he climbs out of the ropes that held him prisoner,
despite the fact that it was there earlier
• The maps
in Jack's apartment and the items on top of the maps change
•
When Jack is stealing the oxycodone, it's position
in the medicine cabinet changes. First it is located
near a yellow and white box and then it is located next
to a green and white box and the space on the shelf above
where the oxycodone had been is now
empty.
•
There is a camera
flash seen over Mikhail Bakunin/Patchy as he is lying
in the Looking Glass. This is now the third camera flash
that we have seen in the last several episodes. See S3E17 and S3E20 for the other
flashes.
•
When Charlie is drowning, he crosses
himself with his left hand. This is not a flipped shot
because the computer equipment can clearly be seen to the
right of him
•
When Jack enters the funeral parlor the door is brown and
the windows on the outside wall go all the way down to the
ground. But when he was walking toward the building the
door was gray and the windows were smaller.
•
The hand that the pharmacist is holding the phone with switches
from her left hand when Jack is speaking with her, to her
right hand as Jack storms away from the counter
• The
newspaper next to Jack on the plane changes positions as
Jack buckles his seat belt and then reaches for it
•
Alex is shown letting the door to the radio tower shut behind
her, in the next shot she is holding the door open as she
exits the radio tower

The sweat and dirt stains on Kate's shirt change throughout
the episode
•
The same shots of Hurley passing a white car and then a black
car are shown several times while Jack is watching the chase
on the TV
• Just
before Naomi jumps down from the tree, the flashlight is in
Kate's right hand, after Naomi jumps down, Kate is holding
the phone in her right hand
• There is a woman extra who repeatedly
walks past the window behind Jack in the basketball scene
• There are bystanders that appear
and disappear during Hurley's chase and arrest
• There is a woman sitting at a table
on the lawn at Santa Rosa, she is not at the table when the
long shot of the scene is shown
•
The curtains near the TV in Jack's
living room change as Jack is watching the car chase
•
When Jack and Hurley are finished playing horse, someone's
head appears and disappears very quickly above the back
board

stains appear suddenly
• Mr.
Avellino, the
man Sayid shot, is right handed but he is wearing his
watch on his right arm
•
The
golf club changes
positions and is against
Mr. Avellino's leg after he is shot
• There are many grammatical errors
on the German menu that Sayid passes on the way into "Dia

There
is no

•
Sayid,

twice
•
Naomi's
eyes are closed when we first see her on the stretcher as
Sayid approaches, but then they are open when Sayid is beside

• The wall moves when Locke throws
the tray and plate against it
•
Most
of Kate's crimes are state crimes and she’d be tried
in the state of her crimes. The charge of assault on a Federal
officer would probably be a federal crime and be tried in
a different court. But none of the crimes took place in
LA and there’s no reason why she’d be tried
there. Also, the court proceedings are wrong as Kate's Lawyer,
Duncan Forrester, is allowed to call Jack as a witness before
the Prosecutor has presented her case.
•
During
the first court session, there are 11 books lined up in
front of the judge, then there are 9
•
The
books on the shelves and the clothing hanging on the rack
on the wall change from when Kate enters Sawyer's room,
to when she leaves the room
•
The
fruit on Ben's plate changes as Locke is preparing it and
delivering it
•
Sawyer's
glasses change position on the nightstand
•
Juliet hands Charlotte the phone and she turns it into the
upright position to make the call. When Regina answers,
Charlotte is shown holding the phone which is turned around
(you can see the interface for a docking station). In the
next shot, the phone is being held correctly again.
•
Sawyer's
hair changes as he gives Kate the glass of wine
• Jack
makes a mistake when he is testifying, he says that the
plane crashed in the South Pacific, instead of the Indian
Ocean which is the cover story being told by the Oceanic
6. This could either be a mistake in the script, or more
likely, someone will notice this in the future and begin
to doubt the story being told by the Oceanic 6

erases some words from the chalk board including "Kerr
might work! Can it evade Hawking's chronology protection conjecture?"
and the words reappear in a later view of the chalk board
•Desmond
passes a parking meter that is the type not introduced until
2002 • The
helicopter is in flight, but the RPM and oil pressure gauges
read zero, indicating that the engine is turned off |

S4E6
•
The box of tissues
behind Goodwin changes

In the scene where Kate is found by Jack, she is shown moving
her left arm twice
•
The picture
of Ben's mother has changed from a younger woman with hair
down on her left shoulder to an older woman with no hair over
her left shoulder
• Juliet
says it's been three weeks since they lost Ethan, but in fact,
Ethan did not die until day 29
•
In S2E5 Jin and Eko come across Goodwin's
body when looking for Walt, they are surrounded by thick
jungle. but in S4E7 they show Goodwin being murdered in a wide
open field and this episode, Ben shows Juliet the
location of Goodwin's body. While it is still on the side
of the hill, it is now closer
to the mountain |

S4E7
• The
picture
of Ben's mother has changed from a younger woman with
hair down over her left shoulder, to the version of the picture
seen in S4E7 where she is an older woman with no hair over
her left shoulder
• Jin has no accent when he approaches
Kate and Sun and says "What happened?"
• The
word STOP
is clearly written in English and has typical US lines on
the street that is supposed to be in Korea
•
The
stuffed panda changes
positions in the back seat of the taxi
•
There is no
panda behind the toy store clerk when Jin first approaches
him, minutes later there
is a panda
•
In
Jin's flashback, he pulls South
Korean won bills that recently came into circulation out
of his wallet. The 10,000 won bills he pulls out were released
on January 22, 2007
• The
first scene of Jin in the toy store shows items on the back
shelf from the shows Ben 10 and Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive.
These shows did not begin airing until 2007. Another shelf
carries Nintendo DS and PSP consoles, which were not available
until late 2004
•
The paper
bag that Frank Lapidus is carrying changes several times
before he delivers the lima beans to Desmond and Sayid
•
Jin passes a US
telephone booth that has been slightly altered to appear
more Korean
• The
English translation of the name on the bag
that contains Sun's wedding ring is Kwon
Sung Hieh, this is not Sun's name
• The
doctor says that Sun needs a c-section and then she delivers
without problems,
also the doctor stops the nurse from taking Sun's wedding
ring, but then we see Sun taking it from a bag
• The man in the Hawaiian shirt moves
in relation to Jin as Jin is looking at the taxi drive away
with the panda
•
Several of the extras on the street
pass by Jin more than once, watch the man in the grey and
black striped shirt and the women
•
Kate's
position, as she speaks to Sun on the beach, changes from
a crouched position to standing, to back down again during
the same scene
|
| |
|
| |
S4E8
• The man in the orange
shirt and light colored pants moves from where he is standing
near the side of the ship, to into the middle of the crew
members, to back near the side of the ship in a matter of
a few frames
• Michael
picks up the champagne
bottle in his left hand and hits Tom/Mr. Friendly with
it, but the broken bottle is suddenly in Michael's right hand as he is holding it against Tom/Mr.
Friendly's neck
• Alex's
earpiece is clearly visible in the last scene. And while a
number of people have taken screen caps, after many attempts,
I think I was able to get one of the clearest screen caps
of exactly what
it is. And while many people noticed something
funny with Alex's eyes in this scene, I don't think it was
just one contact slipping as many people seem to think. If
you look closely enough, you can see that both eyes are actually
affected. See Eyes
for a discussion of what is happening with Alex's eyes during
this scene.
• A
dial tone is heard after Tom ends the call with Michael. Cell
phones do not have dial tones after a call has ended
• Karl's
water bottle should have two holes from the bullet and yet,
it only has one
• Michael's
Kevin Johnson
passport photo shows him smiling. This photo would never be allowed
on a passport
|

|
| |
S4E9
• Ben's
bag is hanging over his left hip when he gets on the horse,
the camera angle changes and the bag is suddenly hanging down
over his right hip
• The
barbeque is upright when Sawyer
runs to it, in the very next frame the barbeque is turned
on its side
• The
version of Risk is the 2005 "Library Edition"
• The
Arabic spellings used are incorrect and the letters are not
connected to each other as they should be
•
When
Ben wakes up in the desert, the ground beneath him changes
between shots
• The doorway that Ben goes through
to his closet did not have a gap for the door that lowered
when Sayid found it in S4E3
• As
Ben walks into Charles Widmore's building, there are two guys
walking down the street in jackets that were not released
from Topman until early 2007
• When
Alex is forced to enter the code for the fence-- there is
a brief moment after the blindfold comes off and then it is
back on.

S4E10
• The
sweat marks on Jack's
t-shirt get larger as Jack leaves his tent and approaches
the group of LOSTies
• Jack
has apparently started shaving
his chest, which has had hair on it in the past
• Jack
is supposed to have been back from the island for some time
now, yet his hands are rough
and blistered, like those of a LOSTie, not a surgeon
which you would expect to be more manicured
•
Forceps
is spelled incorrectly (forcepts) on Juliet's list, and so
is gauze (gause)
•
The
type of smoke detectors used in hospitals are hard-wired,
they do not contain batteries
•
Jacks'
last name is spelled incorrectly on his lab
coat but is spelled correctly on the name
plate on his desk, on the door
to his office and on the sign
out in the lobby
•
When Kate approaches Aaron he is holding the whale upright,
it switches
to being tail up as she picks him up and then it is right-side
up again
• There
are problems with
the lighting in the scene where Jack proposes to Kate.
Although they are facing each other, they are lit from different
angles, so their faces have the light coming from opposite
directions
• Jack's
scar appears and then disappears during the scenes where he
is wrapped in a towel |
| |
|
| |
S4E11
• The
coaster
disappears off the table and the pad and colored pencils
move positions between shots
•
The
position of the comic
book changes several times in relation to the compass and
the position of the knife on top of the comic book also changes
•
The
single of "Everyday" by Buddy Holly was recorded in
May of 1957 and not released until 1958, over one year after
Locke's birth date of May 30, 1956. It would be impossible for
Emily to have been playing this record the night of John's birth

S4E12
• The position
of the family members changes from when we first see them
surrounded by guards, to being further away from the plane with
no guards near them as the Oceanic 6 leave the plane
•
The positions
of the reporters changes during the
Press Conference (watch the woman in the light green tank top)
• The
policeman, Nadia and the police car all change
positions between shots, one of these may just be a flipped
shot, which I normally do not include in this listing.
• Hurley
changes
position in relation to the alcove on the wall from when
he kicks the coconut to when he picks it up and he is suddenly
standing further away from the alcove
• Aaron's
baby
blanket changes back and forth from pale blue (Sun getting
Aaron from Kate), to a dark blue blanket being on top of the
pale blue one (Sun getting in the Zodiac Raft), back to pale
blue ( on the raft) and then finally settles on dark blue when
they are on the Kahana
• At the memorial
service for Christian Shephard, Jack says "10 months ago"
he wrote on a cocktail napkin at the Sydney airport, therefore
it is 7 months after they have gotten back and Aaron
is still the same size as he was when the Oceanic 6 got back
and was supposed to be 5 weeks old according to Kate
• The 1970-1972
Camaro did not have tripometers
as standard equipment, where the lower four numbers appeared
on the odometer
• The motor
on the Zodiac Raft changes, look at the black line on it,
the general shape and for the presence and absence of what looks
like the peeling paint which reveals a white surface under the
silver |
| |
|
| |
S4E13
• When Hurley takes Aaron from Kate onto
the raft, the first shot shows him with a life jacket; in
the next shot, he is not
wearing a life jacket
• Richard Alpert
is shown lowering the gun after shooting Keamy in the back.
After a brief reaction shot from Sayid, Richard is again shown
lowering the gun
• When Ben climbs
down the ladder to the icy cavern and falls, the crowbar lands
behind him. In
the next shot, it is in front of him, slightly under his
knee
• Jin has already
run across the landing pad and then he is seen running across
it again
•
The parka that Ben is seen wearing when entering the icy cavern
is different
than the one he is wearing when he wakes up in the desert
in S4E9. Look at the snaps on the collar of the parka in S4E13,
they are not there in S4E9.
Also the logo
seen on the parka before he moves the wheel is this logo,
the logo
on the parka in the desert is this logo, it is reversed |

S5E1
• When the alarm clock goes off in the opening
scene, the alarm itself isn't actually set for 8:15. The alarm
on this clock is set on the left-side of the clock and it is
set to 12:00, not 8:15
• Dr. Pierre Chang is wearing
a Swan station lab coat while doing an orientation film for
the Arrow
• One of the guys
on the zodiac was wearing a backpack immediately prior to the
flash in S4E13, but when the sky turns normal again in this
episode, his backpack is missing
• Locke
is shown looking at his empty hand, in the next shot, he is
holding his knife
• When the witness
takes a picture of Hurley with the gun, the man Sayid threw
over the railing is shown with his right leg in a different
position than it was when he landed and he was originally laying
between the white parking lines. Now his legs cross over one
of the white lines.
• The rip in Desmond's
HAZMAT suit is now on the left
leg, as opposed to when it was on Kelvin's right leg in
"Live Together, Die Alone".
• In the beginning
where Aaron says "cho cho", his voice is not in sync
with his mouth
• When Daniel asks
if everyone is accounted for, Sawyer says "not everyone,
Locke", while he is correct about Locke being unaccounted
for, he neglects to mention that Claire is also missing |
| |
|
| |
S5E2
• The street
changes from when Hurley is pulled over, to after Ana Lucia
leaves and Hurley looks back at the street. The scene takes place in California
but there's a sign for Windward Auto Spa located in Kaneohe,
Hawaii, in the background
• The SUV has black tape on a portion of the
chrome on the front bumper when Hurley gets pulled over, but
the tape
is missing when Hurley pulls out of the gas station
• Ben blows his match out twice.
The first time, the camera is positioned behind the candles,
as Ms. Hawking enters the church. Then there is another shot
from the other side of the room, where we see Ben blowing the
match out again
• The same photo
(of two men at a slaughterhouse) is used both behind
the counter and next
to the door at Jill's butcher shop.
• The oxygen tank
that Jack uses to revive Sayid in the hospital is empty, with
its indicator well into the red "refill" zone
• The position
of the coloring book changes in Aaron's hand between shots taken
in the car when it is in the gas station
• When Jack calls
Ben, the man standing on the street suddenly starts walking,
it looks like he has missed his cue to begin walking
• While the Reyes'
garage is the same, the inside of their house is a different
layout than the inside shown in previous episodes |
| |
|
| |
S5E3

the next shot
• The sign on the
building housing Daniel's lab reads Claredon,
the actual name of the building at Oxford that houses the Physics
lab is Clarendon
• Sawyer lowers
his gun and the front end is located upwards, in the next shot
the position
of the gun changes and the butt of the gun is up
• When Locke approaches
the Others military camp the man cleaning Jones/Young Charles
Widmore's head wound is in front of him, in
the next shot he is standing behind Widmore |
| |
|
| |
S5E4
• The ketchup
bottle on Aaron's breakfast table changes position between
shots
• There is a man
standing in a shelter behind Jack and a red car parked
nearby, then they are both missing, then the man is back in
the scene
• As Sawyer touches the items on the table
in the beach camp kitchen, he pushes two cans together, in
the next shot, they are apart
again
• The Volvo
logo is missing off of the front of Kate's car when she
is driving into the motel parking lot, but it is there as
she pulls into the parking spot and is also there when she
arrives
at the marina
• When the LOSTies are walking through the
jungle to the beach, Juliet's hair starts out in a bun, then
when she talks to Miles it is seen with half of it pinned
up, and when the survivors notice the hatch light, it is back
in a bun again
• The handwriting
on the paper with Kate's
address is different when Jack gives it to her and when
Sayid finds it on Tony's wallet |

were too many shots fired too rapidly, more than would possible
without reloading the type of bolt action gun she is firing
• Montand is seen
turning
twice to see the monster
• The violin
changes position on the beach. The first time the violin
case is leaning against a log and then it is lying flat on
the beach |
| |
|

S5E6
• The words longitude and latitude
are reversed on the board
showing the coordinates. Longitude numbers should have
East/West designations and latitude numbers should have North/South
designations
• When Jack leaves the table to go
into the kitchen, there is no milk carton on the table. Then
the top
of the milk carton can be seen in front of Kate before
Jack comes back out of the kitchen and when he returns to
the table, the entire milk carton can be seen
• The handwriting on the fragment
of Ben's note is
different than the handwriting on the entire note that
Jack reads on the plane

Ray's bag, he has the right shoe in his right hand and the
left shoe in his left hand, In the next shot, the shoes have
switched places in Jack's hands
• The pillow in the coffin is different
than the pillow in S4E12 & S4E13 and Locke's tie
has changed
• When Jack is first seen opening
his eye, it takes a few seconds before he blinks his eye lids,
the second time we see Jack open his eye, he immediately begins
blinking his eye lids
• Jin
appears to be in Dharma time but the song playing on the Dharma
VW's radio is a song by The Donkeys called "Excelsior
Lady" that was released in 2008 according to a MySpace
page. At the time of this episode it seemed apparent that
if the Dharma purge was in the 80's (or in 1992 as some fans
believe), then how could the radio be playing a song from
2008? This discrepancy was cleared up
in the 3/19/09 podcast
when it was revealed that the song has now become "Dharma
Lady" by Geronimo Jackson, the fictitious band created
by TPTB and the former MySpace page has now been taken down.
• Locke's right foot moves slightly
as Jack opens the second part of the coffin
• When Jack is taking his father's

• When Kate is waking up on the rocks,
the piece of hair on Kate's
cheek changes
• The doors of Simon's
Butcher Shop are different than the doors in S5E2
• Jack claims he did not know how
Locke died, but in S3E22 Jack has Jeremy
Bentham's obituary in his hand as he sits in his car outside
the funeral home. There is a translation of the obituary
that is posted all over the internet. It claims that the obituary
says "The body of Jeremy Bentham of New York was found
shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted
Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises
coming from the victim's loft. Concerned for tenants' safety,
he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam
in the living room. according to Jamie Ortiz, a police spokesperson,
the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Bentham
is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be
held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening."

S5E7
• Abaddon slows down to let
the goats pass in front of the car, in the next shot, the goats
are back
on the same side of the road as where they started
• Santa
Rosa Mental Health Institute is portrayed in earlier episodes
as a place Jack can stop by after work to visit Hurley. However
in this episode, the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute is identified
as being in Santa
Rosa, CA which is over 400 miles from the hospital where
Jack works in Santa Monica, CA
• As Nurse Susie
Lazenby and another attendant are helping Hurley back into the
hospital, they suddenly switch
their places next to Hurley
• When Locke arrives in Santo Domingo,
Sayid is in exactly
the same position as he is working on the roof as he was
in the picture
that Widmore showed Locke
• When Sayid is on the roof building
it, there is more
of the roof completed than when he sits with Locke at the
table
• The
Canadian
passport Locke is given by Widmore was issued in 2007 and
expires in 2017. However, Canadian passports must be renewed
every 5 years, not 10
• As Abaddon is driving Locke
down the road to the airport in Tunisia, an American 45MPH speed
limit sign can be seen briefly outside the passenger window
• The Tunisian license plates
have '342' and '207' as 'series numbers' which as of the end
of February 2009 didn't exist and the highest possible was 137
• Abbadon's left
arm changes position after he is lying dead on the street
• This is the third
version of Locke's letter that we have seen, the other
two versions were seen in S5E6
• This is the second
version of the envelope that we have seen, the first
was seen in S5E6
• There are numerous mistakes throughout
the scene where Locke speaks with Walt in NYC
• The man with the grey
baseball cap is first seen walking across the street with
a woman woman wearing a grey hat, he is then seen several more
times walking in different directions without her and she
is seen walking along the street without him
• The lady in the short
sleeved grey shirt and black belt is seen walking back and
forth behind Locke and Abaddon and through the intersection
and at different locations on the street at least 5 different
times. There is also a lady with a hot pink shirt on, a man
in a suit with a large white or light grey strap across his
chest and a lady in a red/orange
striped shirt that are also visible
walking back and forth in contradictory directions throughout
the scene. They have already passed by headed in one direction
and then they are suddenly coming from either the same direction
again, or from a direction where they could not possibly be
at that time
• Locke and Abaddon change
position in relation to how close they are to the blue pole
and the window of the auction house
• The girls with the yellow
and the white backpacks are seen on the steps of the school,
next they are crossing the street as they approach the school
• As Walt and Locke are talking,
when the camera changes to Walt, we can clearly see Locke turn
his head. But when camera goes back to Locke's face, he is still
facing exactly in same direction as he was before he turned
his head
• Walt has always
called Locke "Mr. Locke" and in this episode he is
suddenly calling him "John"
• The license plate clearly
visible on the car driven by Abaddon is an out of date New York
plate. The Statue of Liberty plate was replaced in 2001 with
a new, redesigned plate and virtually no current automobiles
feature the old plate - therefore this was either in error,
or possibly intentional
• In S4E13 Walt told Hurley
he had been visited by Jeremy Bentham. But in S5E7 when we see
Locke meet Walt, Locke never refers to himself as Jeremy Bentham
during his conversation with Walt
• When Locke and Walt meet
in New York City, they are standing on the corner of "W
67th St." and "8th Ave". The real W. 67th Street
in Manhattan does not intersect with an "8th Ave"
• The subway sign is wrong,
it says "Columbus", whereas the closest subway entrance
in Manhattan would be the Lincoln Center subway on Broadway
which is half a block away. The only entrance with "Columbus"
on the sign is Columbus Circle, which is 8 blocks south on W
59th St (at the corner of Central Park West and 59th St.), and
the sign is very different
• The NYC crosswalks are painted
incorrectly. They are painted the way that crosswalks in Honolulu
are painted |

S5E8
• Jin's beard, mustache and injuries change
from one scene to the next. His facial hair is much heavier
before the flash to 1974 than it is after the flash
• There are also noticeable changes to Sawyer's
beard throughout the episode
• Rosie's
hair changes between shots, and so does her hand
• Sawyer is wearing
a white t-shirt when he answers the door but
is wearing a green t-shirt when he puts on his jumpsuit
• The positions
of the plates,
cups change in relation to the picnic basket and wine
bottle changes position inside of the basket
• The man who invented
the eye
chart seen in the Infirmary was not even born until 1970,
making it impossible for the eye chart to be present in 1977
• There
is a 1988 version of a Cyclone
pinball game located in
the rec room even though the year is supposed to be 1974.
It also appears as if the second
pinball machine that has been seen previously in S3E13,
SE15 and S4E3 is no longer located next to the first one,
but is in a corner opposite the piano. However since the markings
on this pinball machine are not visible, there is no way of
telling if it is the 1999 version of Revenge
From Mars
•
The little girl that Daniel presumes to be Charlotte
exists in 1974, yet Ben previously mentioned that Charlotte
was born in 1979. Thus, the girl cannot be Charlotte. However,
in the 3/19/09 podcast TPTB said that the script of Confirmed
Dead said that Charlotte was born in 1970. Rebecca Mader told
them,"Hey, I'm not that old, it should say 1979."
It wasn't caught in the editing room and was allowed to air.
TPTB said they'll just have to live with it as an acceptable
error. However, after Rebecca Mader protested on her MySpace
page that this was untrue, TPTB then said in their 3/26/09
podcast that they
apologized to her and that this error was their fault and
had nothing to do with her
•
The picnic
table is in a slightly different location before the alarm
goes off, than it is when it is seen after the alarm goes
off |

S5E9
• The
brown
bottle of glue moves from between Radzinsky's wrists to
beside his right hand when he is making the model. A taller
bottle with a tapered neck also appears in one shot and is
missing from the next
• Frank has much
more blood
on his collar and his shirt, especially on his sleeve,
just after he lands the plane, than he does in later scenes
• When Sun, Frank
and Ben are walking up to the outriggers, the sand around
the outriggers and right down to waters edge shows footprints
and unnatural horizontal lines. These would not be present
in a real beach environment with no human interaction. The
wind and tide would have erased both in little time
• When Sawyer sees
the arrival of Jack, Kate and Hurley, he took off his glasses
with his right hand, but when the same scene has a close-up,
he took them off with his left hand
• The
items outside the Flame Station change positions when
from when Jin enters it to when he leaves it
• The woman
standing behind Sun changes positions between shots
• The Welcome banner
is first seen tied between two trees, next it is seen tied
between the Processing Center and a tree
• The guy in the
kelly green shirt passes in front of Jack and Kate as they
watch the video, then he is seen passing behind them
• As
Juliet hands the baby
back to Amy, it is noticeable that it is now a doll. The
blanket over Juliet's left shoulder also disappears suddenly,
only to be shown under the baby, when Juliet hands him to
Amy, instead
• The number
of uniforms that are folded and stacked on the shelves
changes from when Jack is walking toward the table, to when
he is sitting at the table
• In S3E20 Roger
has a uniform that said "Work
Man", two words) while Jack's uniform says "Workman"
• In the last scene,
as the camera follows 1977 Young Ben as he takes a sandwich
to Sayid, an Apple Lisa is shown in the background. While
this computer was available at the same time as the more commonly
used Apple II's throughout the series, it wasn't released
until 6 years later in 1983.
• When the new
recruits are having their photo taken, Hurley looks at Kate,
and we hear only one click of the camera. Yet on the picture
that Christian shows to Sun, Hurley is looking
straight into the camera. Also, one of the men seen in
the photo is missing when the photo is been taken
• When Frank and
Sun meet with Christian, in the first scene Frank doesn't
have glasses on his shirt, as they enter the room he has glasses
between his shirt's button |

S5E10
• The camera
watching the cell holding Sayid was a modern camera that did
not exist in 1977
• The dead
chicken is smaller than the chicken that Sayid had picked
up
• There is what
appears to be a piece of white clothing or paper on the floor
that changes
position in the scene where Sayid kills Ivan Andropov
• There are four
mistakes regarding the car in Moscow. The license plate of
the indicates a nonexistent region in Russia, 158, and the
numbers
on the plate are flat whereas actual ones in Russia are
pressed out. There is no such place where a car could be parked
and have that view
of Red Square.
And finally, Sayid walks past Ben's car, parked on the side
of the road, and then enters the gate, where Ben's car is
now parked behind Ben, who is standing outside it.
• There is an an
Apple
Lisa computer in the Security Center. This computer was
not sold for another 6 years
• Kate's car
door is open and then it is suddenly closed
• When Sayid looks
at Hurley
standing at the gate counter at the airport, the female
ticketing agent is not Nalini as seen in "316"
• The food
pyramid seen on the wall of the cafeteria was not created
until 1992
• Young Ben's body
changes position after he shot by Sayid, and then changes
back to its former position again
|
| |
|
| |
S5E11
• In S5E10 and at the beginning of
S5E11 we see Sayid shoot Young Ben on the left
side of his chest, yet when Jin finds Young Ben, and in
all subsequent scenes, the
bullet wound has changed positions and is now on the right
side of his chest
• When Kate and Aaron are in the grocery
store, and Kate talks to the man handling boxes (stocker) ,
the boxes appear to contain Gatorade with the "G"
logo, which didn't begin until 2009
• In the supermarket, Kate is clearly
wearing stabilizers on her heels. She is no longer wearing
them when she goes to visit Cassidy
• The
man who invented the eye
chart seen in the Infirmary was not even born until 1970,
making it impossible for the eye chart to be present in 1977
• The man stacking groceries tells
Kate that the juice boxes are on aisle 5. But Kate
is shown running down an aisle with juice boxes that is
clearly labeled as aisle 3 when viewed in the next shot through
the store mirror
• Young Ben's arm moves
several times while Sawyer is carrying him through the jungle.
First it is laying flat by his side, then it is out straight
behind Sawyer, then it is folded across his chest |

•
On the dock, Locke puts on his left sock and ties his shoe,
but then in the next shot, he's putting his left sock on again
• When
Caesar confronts Locke about the boats, Locke
has a small black mark or possibly a bug on the left shoulder
of his shirt. In the next shot it disappears before returning
in the following shot and then disappearing again
• The
picture that Sun shows to Ben of Hurley, Jack and Jack in
the Dharma Initiative is not the same photo
shown in S5E9. In the S5E9 version of the photo, the man
standing behind Hurley's right shoulder has his head bent to
the right. In the version shown in this episode, the man's head
is straighter. Also
the person over Hurley's left shoulder changes.
• The
books
on the shelf near Ben change positions several times between
shots • When
Ben goes over to the place in the closet where the door to the
tunnel is hidden, he moves the suit jackets, as Ben opens the
door with hieroglyphics, the suit jackets have changed positions.
And as Ben starts down the steps after lighting the lantern,
the suit jackets change positions again (1,
2) • When
Ben drains the murky water to summon the Smoke Monster, his
right hand changes positions twice in between shots
• Desmond's body
and the grocery bag change positions between shots
• Lapidus'
shirt has blood
stains that do not match the
stains seen in S5E9
• Charles
Widmore is shown to have been banished sometime after the Purge,
circa 1992, however, both he and Miles have stated that Widmore's
been looking for the Island for about 20 years |

S5E13
• The
remote
control near Mr. Vonner's body changes position several
times
• The
Apple
Lisa computer seen on the security center was not sold
for another 6 years
• At
the pylons, the sweat on Kate's t-shirt disappears when she
enters the van
• When Young Miles
touches the door, his hand is very close to the door knob.
In the next shot, his hand is much further away from the knob.
• Miles
has a moustache and goatee, but he did not in 'Whatever happened,
happened'. However, no days have passed since that episode
• During
the initial conversation with Horace, Miles puts his walkie
on the desk, where it stays for the duration of the conversation.
When he's about to leave, the walkie is in his hand again
• As
Hurley is loading the van one of the workers in the Motor
Pool is seen twice carrying the tires in two different shots.
He already passed Hurley when Hurley is opening the hatch,
in the next shot he is just picking up the tires again
• Hurley and Miles
close
the hatchback of the van when Chang tells him to wait
at the Orchid. In the next scene, it's open
again
• TPTB acknowledged in one of the
recent podcasts that the flip tops shown in this episode didn't
exist in 1977
• As Roger talks
to Jack in the school, Jack manages to wipe the far left board
in the time it takes Roger to kick his bucket at the door
(1,
2)
• On
the way to the Swan Hatch construction site, the van passes
by a backhoe
which bears modern Case CE decals which did not exist in 1977
• In one shot,
Elmer is seen behind Kate. In the next shot which faces the
opposite direction, he is seen behind Roger
• The periodic
table on the wall in the classroom contains elements that
were not yet discovered in 1977
• The Dharma
worker is seen picking up The Swan hatch door with ease,
and stamping the numbers on it as Glenn
reads them to him. Yet in "Exodus, Part 2" it takes
both Jack and Locke using their full strength to move it slightly
and it's described as a "foot thick steel door"
• The heavy-set
extra who walks past Miles before the kidnapping passes the
barbershop next door to the taco stand twice, the first time
walking slowly, then walking more quickly |

S5E14
• Several
of the mistakes in this episode appear to simply be the results
of integrating scenes from previous episodes into this episode,
resulting in what appears to be nothing more than just continuity
errors. This is especially true of Daniel's hair, the shelves
in the Orchid Station and the timeline of events
• The shelves
that Daniel picks up his helmet from mysteriously
disappear when he bumps into Dr. Chang
• Daniel's
hair is much shorter when he is watching the TV than it
is when Charles Widmore enters the room
• The timeline is completely off from
what was presented in S5E1. In S5E1, Dr. Pierre Change wakes
up at 8:15 a.m., takes a shower, feeds the baby, is filming
the orientation video for the Arrow when he called to the
Orchid because of the sick worker. However, in this episode,
it is clearly around 6:00 a.m. when Sawyer briefly questions
Daniel about the reason for his return to the Island, and
then Daniel is immediately taken to the Orchid where he sees
Dr. Chang and the same sick worker
• Another version
of the Dharma
recruits group picture is shown. Once again, it is different
from the versions seen in S5E9 and S5E12
• The napkin
and other items on the table in the restaurant change
positions
• There is a bicycle
leaning against the wall of one of the Dharma houses when
close up view are scene of Daniel talking to Young Charlotte
who is on the swings. In the next view of this scene the camera
is further away and the bicycle is missing
• Graduation ceremonies
at Oxford University take place at the Sheldonian Theatre,
however the building
seen is the same that has been used many times before to represent
Oxford and several churches. See Duplicates
• The orange
oil filter seen in the Motor Pool during the shootout
is an aftermarket Fram filter with SureGrip. In 1977, Fram
filters were orange with black print and did not receive the
additional SureGrip feature until the early 2000's |

S5E15
• The handwriting in the inscription in Daniel's
diary that was written by Eloise Hawking is
different in S5E15 than the one in S5E14
• Daniel's eyes
are open, then suddenly
closed and the top of his jumpsuit near his neck changes
positions in this scene
• The blood
smeared on Jack's face changes
• And
we got to see the amazing changing picture
again when Sun showed it to Richard.
The woman in the white blouse that is second from the left
is facing forward as opposed to be turned slightly to her
left
• The flat
floor of the pool that the scene is filmed in can be seen
as Jack is swimming through the tunnel opening
• Naveen Andrews'
British accent can be heard when Sayid gets out of the pool
of water
• When Eloise closes
Daniel's eyes, neither her hand nor fingers actually touch
his eyes |

S5E16
& S5E17
• During Kate's
flashback to the 1980s, bottles of Malibu Tropical Banana
and Absolut 100 Black can be seen on the shelf. Both products
were not introduced until 2007
• There is a modern
looking stereo in the store
• Naveen Andrews' accent is distinctly
British in several scenes, included those when they are trying
to remove Jughead's core
• Jacob drives his knife into the
sand, but when the man in the dark shirt leaves him, the
knife is laying on a black rock and the leaf he was eating
the fish from has vanished
• The Swan
Hatch door that the Others see in the abandoned LOSTie
beach camp is different
that the door that landed on the beach in S2E23. The word Quarantine is in a
different place on the door
• The "DHARMA" moves around
on Sawyer's jumpsuit: in the scene of Rose and Bernard's house,
it's slightly moved up and then, in the scene of Sawyer and
Jack's fight it's back in its place
• After Nadia is struck by a car after crossing
La Brea Avenue three blocks from Santa Monica Boulevard, Sayid
runs to her side and a very tall condominium-like
tower is visible in the background. No such structures
are visible from that actual location in Los Angeles
• Just before Sawyer
sees Vincent his left
hand changes position between shots. It is by his side
and suddenly it is on the gun strap
• When Sawyer is
greeted by Vincent on the beach, a treat
is visible in his left hand which Vincent proceeds to
eat
•
In
the scene at the beginning with the unfinished tapestry, the
letters in the Greek-lettered motto are wrong. Xi is used
for epsilon and zeta for the last sigma. This has been corrected
for the later scenes with the finished
tapestry. However the last word on the bottom line of
the finished tapestry has an omicron where there should be
an omega
• Just before Jack
is punched by Sawyer, Jack walks away, yet in the next shot
they are standing next to each other again
• The straps
on Jack's surgical mask change positions. They appear
both above and below his ears in different shots during the
surgery scene
•
The
bloodstain on Jack's
jumpsuit is inconsistent
• In the gunfight
at the Swan site, Kate's gun is shown as out of ammo, but
the next shot shows her continuing to shoot, then she replenishes
the magazine
• Sayid incorrectly
refers to the core of Jughead as a "thermonuclear"
bomb. The whole device is a thermonuclear bomb, which produces
explosive energy through nuclear fusion, but the core is a
nuclear fission bomb. No nuclear fission bomb in 1954 was
small and light enough to carry in a backpack
• When Jacob's
enemy pushes a stabbed Jacob into the fire pit, Jacob's figure
is clearly a stunt model
•
During
the final scene, the blood
around Juliet's mouth and face keeps disappearing and
reappearing
•
When
Sayid, Sun and Jin see the remains of the statue in S2E23,
they had set off from the beach camp in a clockwise direction
around the Island. In this episode, Richard
leads the group anti-clockwise around the coast to reach
the statue, passing through the camp on their way |

Names |
| |
• In
S2E8 Jason's last name is Elder and in S2E20 Jason's last
name is McCormack.
• In
S3E16 it seems as if Mr. Ford is calling Mrs. Ford by the
name of "Brooke" when he is breaking down the door.
In S3E19, Sawyer tells Anthony Cooper that his mother's name
was Mary.
• Season
1 DVD Interview:
It
seems that there are curious things going on with the Season
1 DVD regarding "The Genesis of LOST" segment, apparently
when some fans view their DVD's they see the name Leee Pinker
vs. Jeff Pinker. Mine said Leee Pinker.
No
matter which name you see, Mr. Pinker states “The Island
could be, in a way, a dramatic version of a video game.”
and that “You could find the hatch, but it could take
several weeks before you had the proper tools to open the
hatch.”
While
Jeff Pinkner (with two N's) is an executive producer for LOST,
who the heck is Leee Pinker and why is his name spelled with
three e's? And if your DVD reads Jeff Pinker, then why is
his named spelled Pinker instead of the correct way, Pinkner?
Why
would they put out not just one version with his named incorrectly
spelled, but two versions with mistakes?
The
incorrect and strange spelling of the name drove me crazy
for almost a full year before I finally figured it out. The
only possible explanation is that Leee Pinker is an anagram
for LINE KEEPER. A little play on words, as the Executive
Producer is the person whose role it is to focus on business
matters such as budgets.
So
did the TPTB hide a clue to the true nature of LOST on the
Season 1 DVD in an obscure anagram associated with an interview?
The reward for noticing it? If a viewer recognized that Pinkner's
name was wrong, they might pay extra attention to what he
had to say in the interview.
• The
Season 2 DVD provided another curious mistake
with names. Eddy Kitsis' name is sometimes listed as Eddy
and at at other times it is listed as Edward. Curiously, at
one point when he appears on screen with Adam Horowitz, their
names have been switched. I believe that the names have been
deliberately switched and are meant to be an indication of
the changes in game
roles that occur on the show. In addition, Adam and Eddy
are two names that we often see as Duplicates
on LOST.

The
Mural |
| |
•
Much discussion has revolved around the changes that appear
in the hatch mural from one episode to the next. Is it possible
that the mural is actually showing which options have been
chosen by the 'game players'? Does the mural changes after
a new option has been selected? There's a great site with
some screen caps at http://www.cs.iastate.edu/~andorfc/iowa_mural.html
that discusses the changes in the mural and in the hatch. |

The
Hatch |
| |
•
The lamps in the dining area and living room, the tables,
the stereo & record collection, and the logo's shown on
the wall in the Swan hatch are very different from S2E1 to
S2E2. For pictures and a really good comparison see http://www.cs.iastate.edu/~andorfc/iowa_mural.html
TPTB
have explained this away by saying that they built a second
Swan hatch for use in Season 2 and it had some different props
and that these changes were unintentional. But, I don't buy
this explanation. There are just too many differences. I believe
that each season is a different game level and that the differences
from Season 1 to Season 2 could be explained by the different
levels being played. |
